You cannot find peace by avoiding life.

The earth has music for those who listen.

Confine yourself to the present.

Small-minded people blame others. Average people blame themselves. The wise see all blame as foolishness.

Act without expectation.

He has suppressed all desire in himself, and transferred his aversion only to the things contrary to nature which are within his own power.

He uses moderate exertion in all things. If he appears foolish or ignorant, he does not care.

Do your work, then step back. The only path to serenity.

When you stand with both feet firmly on the ground, you will always keep your balance.

Empty your mind of all thoughts. Let your heart be at peace.

Because he does not compete, no one can compete with him.

The Master travels all day without leaving home. However splendid the views, she rests quietly in her being.

Whoever relies on the Tao in governing men doesn't try to force issues or defeat enemies by force of arms.

Even the finest weapon is an instrument of fear; a civilized man will not use it unless he is forced to, and then with sadness and restraint.

When they are transformed, and desire raises its head, I quell it with the nameless simplicity.

Nameless simplicity brings absence of desire. The absence of desire leads to stillness. And the world reaches peace of its own accord.

Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse.

Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
